St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Perhaps the most famous church in Ireland, St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin is certainly the biggest and with a 43-metre (141 ft) spire, the tallest. Seeped in history, this is a beautiful cathedral and is the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland. It’s near the hotel so take a stroll and be inspired by this monumental work of art.
A National Treasure
St Patrick’s Cathedral was founded in 1191 and since 1870 it’s been the national cathedral for the whole of Ireland, drawing chapter members from each of the twelve dioceses of the Church of Ireland.
The most famous dean here was Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels amongst other things. This is one of our favourite things to do in Dublin.
