July is the peak time for people to visit to our great city so there are lots and lots of festivals, concerts, matches, games, tournaments, shows, exhibitions and musicals to fill your days. We’ll help, of course, so here’s our list of the best of what’s on in Dublin this July:

1. Futureproof

If you like theatre then you will love this. Futureproof gives the Victorian concept of travelling circuses and freak shows a contemporary makeover in this award-winning play in the Project Arts Centre. It runs until until July 1st.

2. Aslan

The Iveagh Gardens is the best kept secret in Dublin – a small, natural theatre in a hidden park near The Fitzwilliam Hotel. On July 7th Dublin’s favourite sons Aslan will be performing live. Don’t miss this one.

3. Laya Healthcare City Spectacular

250,000 people are expected at Ireland’s biggest free summer festival, Laya Healthcare City Spectacular. It’s based in Merrion Square and will have over 300 spectacular shows, workshops and activities on July 7th, 8th and 9th.

4. Coldplay

The big summer gig this year is on July 8th when Coldplay roll into town on their ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ tour and set up in the huge Croke Park.

5. Longitude

Longitude is a three day festival featuring the biggest and brightest names in music, including Stormzy, Mumford and Sons and The Weeknd – July 14th, 15th and 16th in Marlay Park.

6. Angela’s Ashes

This is a musical adaptation of Frank McCourt’s important memoir Angela’s Ashes telling the story of a young boy growing up in poverty-stricken circumstances. It will be on stage at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from the 18th to the 30th.

7. Damien Dempsey

Damien Dempsey is one of Ireland’s coolest talents and on the evening of July 21st he’ll be performing at one of the city’s coolest venues – the Iveagh Gardens just up the road from the hotel.

8. Festival Of Curiosity

Festival of Curiosity takes place throughout Dublin on July 21st to the 24th and features a packed programme of arts and science activities, innovative technologies and cultural performances to wow all the family.
