THINGS TO DO IN DUBLIN IN MARCH

Dublin/ 1 March 2019
Back to list

March is always choc-a-block with things to do in Dublin. That’s partly because two of the biggest events are both on in this month: The Six Nations rugby and, of course, Saint Patrick’s Day. But there’s lots more happening too and here are some of our picks for you to put in your diary:

The Best St Patrick’s Day Festival on Earth

The Dublin St Patrick’s Day Festival is always the biggest and best and if you’re anywhere near the city, there’s LOADS of things to do over the five-day festival. But there are also parades in every town in the country on the 17th and that includes some of the suburbs and commuter towns outside of the city centre.

THE ROYAL MOSCOW BALLET PRESENTS SWAN LAKE

The Royal Moscow Ballet is back again this year but this time with Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece Swan Lake and only for one night – March 2nd – so get your tickets here quickly and grab this chance to see some of the world’s greatest dancers right here in Dublin.

ST PATRICK’S WEEKEND OF RACING 2019

This is one of the biggest racing weekends in Ireland and features some of the best horses, jockeys and trainers in the world. It’s the first national hunt racing two day fixture of 2019 takes place on St Patrick’s weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of March in Limerick Racecourse. See the full list of races here.

Republic of Ireland vs Georgia

Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will be the venue for Mick McCarthy’s first home game in his second spell as Republic of Ireland football manager. It all kicks off in this crucial EURO 2020 qualifier with Georgia looking for three points from the men in green. Look here for tickets.

Six Nations Ireland V France

This year’s Six Nations has been disappointing for Ireland, so far, but perhaps we can see the French off in style. This is the second and final home game for us but it promises to be a cracker. Kick off at 3pm on March 10th.

LEINSTER V ULSTER

The quarter finals of the Heineken Rugby Champions Cup features three of Ireland’s four teams. This is the big one though with Leinster hosting neighbours Ulster in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium at 7.45 on the evening of Saturday March 30th. Try here for tickets.

JERSEY BOYS

The smash hit musical is back at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from March 6th to the 16th. If you haven’t seen this Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning musical yet then this is your perfect opportunity. Get your tickets here.

Mother’s Day

This is one of the most-celebrated days in Ireland and there are lots of things you can do for your mum. That includes Dinner in Glovers Alleyafternoon tea here, cocktails at Inn On The Green or a night of five-star luxury with us.
